The power of the gaze: Raffaello

Just a stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountainthe National Gallery of Ancient Art, in the Palazzo Barberini, restored last year, with its 34 rooms, is a beautiful setting for exhibitions and events.

Today I suggest you, a very interesting exhibition: Raffaello meets Raffaello.
Two famous works of Raffaello, Portrait of a Young Man (the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum) and La Fornarina, are compared.

Works apparently so different, they hid a common thread: the gaze.

  1. Cute, Raffaello meets Raffaello 🙂 I was in Rome not far ago, and I visited the Stanze di Raffaello, I was SO impressed! But most of all by the Sixtine Chapel……………. I really had tears in my eyes! You are so blessed to live in Italy!!!!
